Why Join Shore Dogs?
If you use this park regularly you really should help support it by joining Shore Dogs. It is only $30.00 a year, and the contribution helps support the ongoing maintenance, improvements and events at the park.

Organization Background
In 1997 a group of Shores residents initiated a petition drive to try to persuade the City of Redwood City to put a dog park in the Shores. It took almost two years of negotiations and compromise in order to secure the location and design we currently have, but finally all the efforts paid off. In December 1998 Shore Dog Park opened. The city agreed to build the park and operate it in partnership with the Shore Dogs Club.

Why The Assocation
As in all city operations, financing was a big factor in the decision to allow this park. Not only the funds for initial construction, but also the continuing maintenance requirements. The solution was a partnership between the City of Redwood City and Shore Dogs to help maintain Shore Dogs Park. Shore Dogs is responsible for keeping the park clean and helping to enforce the rules and the City maintains the park grounds, provides garbage pick up and assists with major turf repair and replacement work with Shore Dogs financial support. Obligations include:

In order to accomplish the above obligations we need members. Your annual dues of $30 help to pay for park maintenance and park repair and improvements. In return you have a very nice dog park to use to exercise and socialize your dog and a chance to meet and make new friends.

Benefits
By joining you become an official Shore Dogs Park supporter. You will be listed as a park financial contributor.
